Abraham, Taylor make weight

In front of an excitable crowd and a throng of cameras, hometown hero “King” Arthur Abraham (30-0, 24 KOs) of Berlin, weighed in at the division limit 168 pounds (76.2 kg). His opponent, Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor (28-3-1, 17 KOs) of Little Rock, Ark., who had more than 20 American fans on hand, weighed in at 166 ¼ pounds (75.4 kg).

Abraham and Taylor are ready to fight before what is expected to be a sellout crowd of 14,000+ at the famed o2 World Arena in Berlin. The clash of former middleweight world champions will kick-off the Super Six World Boxing Classic, Saturday, Oct. 17 on SHOWTIME (8 p.m. ET/PT).

Abraham vs. Taylor will air on a delay and be followed immediately by the live telecast of Carl “The Cobra” Froch vs. Andre “The Matrix” Dirrell.

Abraham, Taylor show Confidence at Wednesday’s final press conference in Berlin

Jermain Taylor today dismissed Arthur Abraham´s talents at a packed press conference at the o2 World Arena in Berlin. More than 14.000 fans will be in attendance when the two former champions open the Super Six World Boxing Classic in Germany´s capital on Saturday night (SHOWTIME®, 8 p.m. ET/PT, tape delayed).

Taylor added fuel to the fire today when he publicly questioned his opponent´s class. Asked how he would rank Abraham, he replied: “There is nothing special about him. He has some power and I know he will be prepared to do battle, (but he is) just a normal fighter. I would not rank him at the top with some of the other fighters I have fought.”

Abraham refused to return the verbal jab. “He can say what he likes. I am sure he will have a different opinion once I have caught him for the first time. I really look forward to Saturday. This is a special fight, the first of many big fights in the Super Six tournament. I am ready and prepared and cannot wait to get in the ring with Taylor.”

Abraham knocks out Taylor
King Arthur Abraham opened the Super Six World Boxing Classic in style as he knocked out Jermain Taylor in the 12th round.

Clearly ahead on points, Abraham connected with a huge right to the head with six seconds to go to send the former undisputed middleweight champion down and out. “He was good, but I was better,” Abraham said. “It was a great fight in front of a great audience.”

For me its arthur abraham who win the tournament because he's strong and still and he's undefeat its very important

I just watched the Taylor-Abraham fight and that was a monster KO. Taylor has a bad concussion and I think he's likely out of the tournament and likely boxing as well. That had to be KO of the year especially when you consider the importance of the fight. I pick Abraham to win the whole thing, and I think the only fighter to even provide him a challenge will be Kessler.
