When Martin Honorio 27-4-1(14kos) got the call to face young unbeaten Lightweight prospect John Molina Jr, he knew that even though he was being brought in as an opponent, just to showcase the skills of Molina, he had something to prove himself. After all Honorio has been stopped twice in his four losses and fought most of his career as a featherweight. But Martin Honorio was not coming in to showcase the Goosens hot prospect but to showcase his own skills.

And that is what he did as he outboxed, outworked and outclassed the young prospect Saturday over ten rounds before a nationally televised audience. John Molina Jr. couldn't figure his opponent out and though he tried the entire fight, it was not going to be his night. Molina now falls to 18-1(14kos) with the loss and Honorio moves on to bigger and better paydays. The final score cards read 98-92 by two judges and the third official had it 99-91.

On the undercard, unbeaten super bantamweight Rico Ramos 13-0(8) impressed the Shobox audience with an eight round unanimous decision over Alejandro Perez 14-2-1(9). The fight was more competitive than the scores reflected but Ramos certainly earned the victory. The scores were 78-73 and 80-71 on the other two judges cards.
